The nature of colon cancer means the disease doesn’t have the kind of profile that attracts big fundraising ventures or even awareness campaigns. But according to the Canadian Cancer Foundation, colorectal cancer will account for 10 percent of all new cancer cases and it’s responsible for 11 percent of deaths from cancer. It affects men and women almost equally.
